RetinaLyzeUpload - Nidek NAVIS-EX

Using Nidek NAVIS-EX

It is very easy to export photos to RetinaLyze if your Nidek Navis software is setup to use RetinaLyze.

 

Fundus image

If you want to export a fundus image from the Nidek Navis-EX software, please follow these steps:

  • Right click on the image you want to export, choose export and click on “RetinaLyze”.

  • Open RetinaLyze in a browser.

  • Open the overview page (the first page after login) and press F5 on the keyboard or press the RetinaLyze logo.

  • You can now start the analysis of the images.

OCT scan

If you want to export a OCT scan from the Nidek Navis-EX software, please follow these steps:

  • Double click on the OCT scan you want to export (currently only Map X-Y images are supported)

  • Press the “Send data to other system” icon

  • The OCT scan is now uploaded and analyzed by the system. Open RetinaLyze in a browser to see the results.

 

 

Setup Nidek NAVIS-EX

Before using this, you need to install RetinaLyzeUpload.

 

Fundus image

To setup Nidek Navis-EX to export fundus images you need to follow this guide. The OCT guide is available if you scroll further down.

While installing RetinaLyzeUpload you will be asked for which camera you use. Choose “Nidek Navis” when asked.

 

  • Open NAVIS-EX from the desktop

  • Click "Setup" and then "Setting" in the top menu.

  • Choose the export tab.

  • Press New.

  • Input "RetinaLyze" (without quotation marks) in Function Name.

  • Choose “Export jpeg files(s)” in Module Name

  • Click Detail...

  • Set Folder to C:\RetinaLyzeUpload

  • Choose “Name + Code” in drop down

  • Click OK 3 times (in the 3 windows)

  • Nidek Navis is now setup to use RetinaLyze.

OCT scans

Follow this guide to export OCT scans from Nidek Navis EX.

While installing RetinaLyzeUpload you will be asked for which OCT software you use. Choose “Navis EX” when asked.

  • Open NAVIS-EX from the desktop

  • Click "Setup" and then "Setting" in the top menu.

  • Select the “Link” tab

  • Click the box “Link up with external system”. Choose "Do not display" and remove checkbox in "Transfer all unsent data" (important, otherwise all OCT scans will be sent to RetinaLyze)

  • Click on DICOM

  • Click on “Setup”

  • In the box “AE Title” enter NIDEK OCT. In the box ‘Station name’ enter the host name of the PC being used e.g. RSD-CAPTURE001. In the box “Institution Name” enter the store name and location.

  • Using the arrows move to and click on the tab “Image Storage”

  • Click on “Store Images”

  • Click on “Select DICOM File Output Destination”

  • Click on the folder icon.

  • Set Folder to C:\RetinaLyzeUploadOCT

  • Click OK and the mapped drive will be shown in the “Destination folder” window.

  • Click OK

  • Click OK on the next screen

  • Select a patient from the patient list

  • Select and display any OCT scan (not fundus image) for the patient

  • Select “Setup” again from the menu bar at the top of the screen. Select “RSViewer Property” from the dropdown list

  • Click on the “Link” tab

     

  • Within the DICOM box click on OCT.

  • ATTENTION: Uncheck all other options on this pane.

  • Click OK

The system are now setup, and ready to be used for exporting OCTs.
